Design philosophy

We started Rover Gear with over a decade of knowledge as the world’s largest network of 5-star pet sitters and dog walkers. This experience helped us to understand the unique pain points that pet parents and dog walkers encounter with on their everyday walks—and gave us an opportunity to offer a thoughtful solution.

The Rover Gear Better Walk No-Pull Harness was designed from the ground up. This means we started from scratch, and not from an existing design. We consulted with certified dog trainers and veterinarians on Rover’s Dog People panel, as well as focus groups of pet parents and dog walkers in Rover’s community, to learn how we could make a better harness. Our unique design was created with pets and their people at heart.

Each Rover Gear product and feature is thoughtfully designed with safety in mind. For our flagship line we went through multiple prototypes, fit tests, durability tests, and walk tests to create a line of pet essentials that prioritize safety, comfort, and ease of use.
